Pitbulls are vicious

 Pitbulls are vicious

This is Gizmo, Gizzy, or Mo-Mo, whatever you call him, he is a teddy bear. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He hardly ever barks, and if you aren't around him all the time, you would swear he was mute. Everything he does is out of pure love, the love he has for each and ever member of my family.

Myth: Pitbulls are vicious.

Truth: Pitbulls are dogs. Like any other dog, they can be taught to be sweet or they can be trained to be terrible.

Let me use this analogy, you are trained to be an assassin because your commanded to do so from your government. Does that mean you want to be like that? Does that mean you will always be an assassin? That you leave each day to kill others? No, you do it because you have too.

Now I understand that dogs are not humans. They don't think like us. But they are like us in some ways. They have feelings. They cry, they love, and they hurt. They eat, drink and sleep to survive. They can be made to be mean. ALL DOGS. I am not just talking about pitbulls.

About me...

Hello before I start I want to tell you a little about myself. I am a dog lover, always have been, always will be. I have had a dog my whole life, except for one year when I lived in an apartment. I never owned a pitbull until three years ago. I have always had German Shepherds, Labs, German Shorthairs or a mutt of some kind. I have been bit badly by three German Shepherds, none of which were mine.

The picture above is of Dante, the very first pitty we rescued. He is amazing. I want to be honest, I was scared of him the first week we got him. I had read some stories and bought into all the hype about them being bad dogs. Boy, could I have ever been more wrong. But more about that later. Dante is a white red nosed pitbull. He has gorgeous brown eyes and cute pink ears. He sometimes looks like a piggy.

I now own a total of 5 pitbulls and 1 lhasa apso. The lhasa apso was here before the pitbulls, she is a 14 year old grandma, and she rules the house. Can you imagine a 10 pound dog telling pitbulls what to do? Well, it's true, she barks and they ALL listen.

I have become an advocate of sorts to the pitty population. They get a very bad wrap.
And that basically is what this blog is about, disproving the myths about the breed and also providing facts about these amazing dogs.
